Looking for someone who can do bore/hone and deck a cast iron engine block.

I talked to TDC already... he is on what I would consider the higher end of the price range.

$45/hole for basic bore and hone, ~$75 for a deck.

Any other shops out there that do good work that I can talk to about pricing?

Matt

I've always been cool with George and Johns(Epirus?). Mostly because my dad knows them though, I have no idea what they'd be like to a random coming in off the street.

Also Tyler's dad works at an engine shop... would not hesitate to take something to him, but no idea on pricing as well.

If it were just a hone I would be doing it myself.

I need the bore and hone with a moderately loose piston to wall (forged wisecos, pic below) ...cant do that myself... then I will be doing some assembly and blueprinting and then returning the block for a decking once I figure out what needs to be removed to get the compression ratio I want with the minor headwork Im doing and being that the deck height is 0.020 higher on my '2002 block

Quit being cheap. Rather have a "good deal" or good work... Prices are steep compared to what? Jed with a bottle brush on a drill - then yes, they are steep...

man up.
